From 1997 to 2001 Mr. Zoltán Urbán was responsible for the managing director position at Hypo Vereinsbank Hungaria.  From 2001 until 2002, he was the Deputy Chief Executive of the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB) and from 2003 to 2004 he worked as a Member of Board of Directors responsible for Corporates, Treasury and Corporate finance transactions at Dresdner Bank Hungaria. From 2004 to 2010 was the Head of the Budapest Office at Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW), where he has actively participated in the preparation of expansion of the parent company in Hungary. In 2010 the Hungarian Government nominated Mr. Zoltán Urbán for appointment as a Full Member of the Board of Directors of EIB. He was appointed as Deputy CEO of the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB), and led Garantiqua Creditguarantee Ltd. as a CEO from January, 2014. From the 5th of January, 2015 he is the CEO of EXIM (joint company of Eximbank and MEHIB, which is the Hungarian Export Credit Insurance Company). From April, 2015 Mr. Zoltán Urbán is the Member of the Board of Hungarian Banking Association. From May, 2015 he is the Member of Board of Managers of China-CEE Management S.à r.l., the general partner and fund manager of China Central and Eastern Europe Investment Co-operation Fund.
