Mr. Paul Clandillon
Financial Crime Domain Expert Cloud & Cognitive Computing
Paul Clandillon is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin, and holds Masters Degrees in computer engineering and mathematics. He has worked at IBM for 30 years across five different countries, including periods in the development labs in Dublin, La Gaude and San Jose. While working in the Dublin Financial Services lab, Paul was part of the team which developed IBM’s enterprise data, process and services architecture for Banking, the Information Framework.
Paul has spent the last number of years helping to develop and deliver IBM’s solution to the escalating problem of financial crime, Financial Crime Insights with Watson, which seeks to apply new techniques such as AI and Machine Learning to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of financial institutions AML processes
Paul’s current role is as European Subject Matter Expert for financial crime. He is based in London, working across the UK and Europe. In his current role Paul has written about the problem of fraud and financial crime extensively in the press as well as how new technologies enable new approaches to these complex problems.
